About Currant wine
Our stalwart, our bestseller and most importantly your favorite fruit wine. Currant has a characteristic aroma, so you can recognize it even with your eyes closed. It tastes exactly like freshly picked currants because it is not liquefied. That means we haven't added any wine spirit or neutral alcohol. And so the taste of the currant is real, well, simply divine.
How to drink currant wine
Drink currant wine simply at will. You can either sip it all evening (chilled or rested at room temperature) or taste it by the glass for several days.
In winter, we can't get enough of the mulled version. Heat the currant to +-60 degrees Celsius (when it starts to foam, don't boil it!) and you have the perfect mulled wine. Just no cinnamon or cloves, the taste would be very unbalanced!
Rhubarb wine is a great complement to the flavours of red meats (especially steaks), Emmental-type cheeses, fish, fried steaks and cheesecakes. This wine will literally grace your dinner to perfection. Watch out for poppy seeds, they make currants taste weird. Currant is the perfect cooking wine. It's a great substitute for cherry in Central American recipes and is also versatile in Czech and Slovak cuisine.
